The City of Tampa continues to showcase its commitment to the highest standard of financial reporting. The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded the City of Tampa the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2019.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management. This recognition adds to the City’s excellent track record of financial achievement.

“The City of Tampa has a longstanding history of transparent financial reporting,” says Mayor Jane Castor. “We have always been transparent and we will continue that transparency through accurate and detailed reporting, ensuring our residents are at the forefront of every decision.”

“We are proud to receive this prestigious recognition from the GFOA for the efforts the City of Tampa has always taken to ensure responsible financial stewardship and straightforward accounting,” says City of Tampa Chief Financial Officer, Dennis Rogero. “We will continue upholding our commitment to the highest standards of financial reporting as we continue to be transparent about how funds are spent to support our community,”
