As Mayor Castor continues to modernize city government to improve community services, the City of Tampa conducted a Community Values Survey, a statistically valid survey to obtain data-based results that are reflective of the diverse demographics of the City and its various communities.

This benchmark survey talked to a total of 1,300 residents through July 1th – August 4th of 2020 and will be conducted on an annual basis to help inform Mayor Castor’s Administration’s decisions on city services and city projects.

We are pleased to learn that 89% of residents have expressed trust in the City of Tampa Government and 92% of residents would recommend the City of Tampa as a place to live and 90% would recommend Tampa as a place to raise children.

One of the interesting things to note is 80% of Tampanians want a car free option and City of Tampa residents rank transportation-related issues as the highest priority, regardless of the region.

“Our City employees deliver stellar services day in and day out and this survey highlights just that,” said Mayor Jane Castor. "Making data-driven decisions is a core tenet of this administration. We look forward to using this as one of the many tools in our tool belt as we transform Tampa's tomorrow."

This survey will be conducted annually to maintain a transparent and open dialogue with our residents on core community values.
