Tampa Police are in the 2700 block of E. 12th Avenue negotiating with an adult male who is believed to be armed and has barricaded himself inside his residence.
Officers originally responded at 2:43 AM for the report of a disturbance regarding the 41-year-old black male subject and a neighbor. The disturbance escalated when the suspect was reported to have pistol-whipped the adult male neighbor in the head and fired shots into the air.
The neighbor has been transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Negotiations continue in an effort to deescalate the suspect and have him peacefully exit the home.
