Mayor Castor to Join Parks & Recreation Kids
On Underwater Walk at The Florida Aquarium

New SeaTREK program will engage underserved communities with meaningful connection to the water

The Florida Aquarium will host Tampa Mayor Jane Castor and several children from Tampa Parks and Recreation for the unveiling of SeaTrek, a new in-water program.

The Mayor will join the kids for an underwater adventure this Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m.

The Florida Aquarium’s SeaTrek is a new program aimed at engaging underserved communities to help create a healthy bond with nature and the water.

A helmet diving experience, SeaTREK is a guided underwater walking tour designed for non-swimmers and guests ages 10 to 80+.

Children will have the opportunity to experience the wonder and excitement of the ocean ecosystem with an up-close encounter with a variety of marine life with the goal of building connections.

The 20-minute, in-water experience will also be offered to the public starting on Saturday.

The SeaTREK experience will take place in the Aquarium’s 100,000-gallon Heart of the Sea exhibit. It requires no swimming experience or specialized skills and allows guests to experience a diverse variety of colorful species.
