As Taylor Swift prepares to take the stage at Raymond James Stadium for The Eras Tour this week, the Swifties at City Hall have been working on a plan to welcome the star to our city.

Cities that have hosted the singer during The Eras Tour have changed their names, illuminated landmarks, and even created street signs in honor of Taylor Swift and her fans, but the City of Tampa decided to up the ante.

“We know Glendale changed its name, Arlington made a street sign, and Vegas illuminated their Gateway Arches. But here in Tampa we’ve got a reputation to uphold... and we want to go BIGGER,” Mayor Jane Castor said.

In videos posted to the City of Tampa’s Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and TikTok, Mayor Jane Castor presents a key to the city to Taylor Swift and invites her to be mayor for the day.

The City is asking Swifties everywhere to help share the video and tag Taylor Swift on social media to help grab her attention and invite her to be Mayor Swift.

In addition, Old City Hall, the Tampa Riverwalk, and downtown bridges will shine “Taylor Swift Red” from sundown to sunrise on Thursday, April 13th.
