Preparing for Subtropical Storm Nicole

TAMPA, Fla. (Tuesday, November 8, 2022) -- Mayor Jane Castor, Tampa Fire Rescue Chief Barbara Tripp, Tampa Police Chief Mary O'Connor, and John Antapasis, Emergency Coordinator will address what residents can do to prepare for Subtropical Storm Nicole, which is expected to transition to a tropical storm later today and begin strengthening.

Current forecasts show the center of Nicole will approach the East Coast of Florida Wednesday night and move across Central and Northern Florida Thursday and Thursday night. Residents can monitor the latest developments on local news, NOAA Weather Radio, or www.hurricanes.gov for any severe weather watches and warnings. 

The City of Tampa also encourages people to sign-up for AlertTampa, which provides emergency notifications and additional resources offered by the City of Tampa.
