The Martin Luther King Parade Foundation, Inc., is gearing up its 2023 activities to celebrate the life and legacy of Civil Rights Activist the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The Foundation kicks off the new year with the annual MLK Parade Foundation Gala and City of Tampa MLK Parade. Renowned saxophonist B.K. Jackson returns home to regale the crowd at the black-tie dinner, and a few new parade participants are crossing waters to join the festivities.

The gala, taking place on Thursday, January 5, 2023, is appropriately themed “Crossing Bridges to Achieve the Dream," capturing how the community must come together to collectively realize the equality, equity, and inclusion for which Dr. King and early Civil Rights leaders fought.

On Monday, January 16, 2023, the Foundation will celebrate Dr. King’s birthday with one of Tampa’s most anticipated annual events: The City of Tampa MLK Parade! The Foundation welcomes back headliners, Bethune-Cookman University Marching Wildcats, along with the Miles College Purple Marching Machine, and the Edward Waters University Marching Band! These three dynamic bands will be joined by more than one hundred high school marching bands, floats, motorcycles, horses, dance groups, and cars.
