Nazarene Youth Conference at Tampa Convention Center Completes Community Service Projects

Approximately 10,000 students and chaperones attended the Nazarene Youth Conference, hosted by the Church of Nazarene at the Tampa Convention Center in July 2023. This marked the 100th anniversary of the conference.

As part of the conference events, students participated in several community service projects to give back to the Tampa Bay Area. These efforts were through the Ministry with Others projects. The Church of Nazarene estimates these projects had a $1.5 million economic impact on the city of Tampa and the surrounding region.

Students logged more than 30,000 service hours on 78 different projects, benefitting groups such as Feeding Tampa Bay, a non-profit organization that provides food to local families in need.

Conference attendees also brought suitcases full of toiletries to donate to people in the Tampa community experiencing homelessness. They used these donated items to assemble more than 30,000 hygiene kits to distribute in the community.

This event also built and distributed 500 raised garden beds to help beautify Tampa and collected more than 1,000 bags of trash around the area.

The total estimated economic impact of the Nazarene Youth Conference was $12.6 million.
