LOCATION:  Chamberlain High School, 9401 N. Boulevard
ARRESTED: Messiah Tyson, black male (8/20/2005)

DETAILS:  Tampa Police arrested Messiah Tyson today after he was found to have an unloaded handgun while on school campus. The School Resource Officer assigned to Chamberlain was made aware that Tyson had an active warrant for Grand Theft Auto out of Hillsborough County. When Tyson arrived to school late this morning, the School Resource Officer took him to the administrative office. During a search, Tyson was found to have an unloaded handgun. He was taken into custody, charged with Possession of a Firearm on School Grounds and Minor in Possession of a Firearm. He was also arrested on the outstanding warrant. 

There were no threats made to any individual or the school itself. Tyson was transported to the Juvenile Assessment Center.
