Tampa Police were dispatched to the intersection of N. Oregon Ave and W. Flora St just before 8:00 PM on Wednesday night for the report of the driver of a black, early 2000’s model VW Jetta firing a gun and hitting a red Toyota Camry.

Early investigation suggests that after multiple verbal altercations between the two drivers, the driver of the red Toyota Camry exited his vehicle. At that time, the driver of the Jetta produced a gun, firing and hitting the Camry’s back window. Inside the Camry was a 5-year-old boy. Thankfully, no one was injured.

The driver of the Jetta was described as a 25–30-year-old Hispanic or black male with a light complexion and a moustache, who was wearing a baseball cap. The Jetta was last seen going westbound from the intersection.

Shell casings were found at the intersection and are currently being examined for evidence. Anyone who may have information relating to this incident should contact Tampa Police by calling 813.231.6130, downloading the TampaPD app, or sending a tip through TIP411.

This is an active investigation. Updates will be provided as they become available.
