TAMPA POLICE MAKE ARREST IN NOV 30 SHOOTING

Details: In the afternoon of November 30, 2020, Tampa Police were dispatched to the report of a male was bleeding in front of a residence in the 4500 block of E. 26th Avenue. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with the adult male victim, who was then transported to the hospital as a trauma alert with multiple gunshot wounds. Detectives immediately began working to develop leads, identifying the suspect as Mardell Fipps.

While following up on investigative leads, Tampa Police located the suspect in the afternoon of December 2, 2020, and maintained surveillance. Fipps was spotted driving a 2016 Silver Hyundai and officers were able to successfully and safely stop him at W. North A St. and N. Dale Mabry Hwy, where he was was taken into custody without incident and transported to Hillsborough County Jail charged with Attempted First Degree Murder; Armed Kidnapping; Possession of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony; Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
