Tampa Police were called for the report of an unknown armed male subject who was banging on the doors of apartments and yelling incoherently at the Bowery Bayside apartment complex Monday night.
It is reported that just after 11:30 PM, the subject raised his gun toward the officer, forcing the officer to shoot him. Officers provided first aid and Tampa Fire Rescue transported the subject to a nearby hospital with, what appears to be, non-life-threatening injuries.
It is very early in this investigation and updates will be provided as they become available.
