Three men have been arrested and charged in relation to a shooting on January 31 that left one man dead.
Officers responded to the area of N. 24th St and Ybor St for the report of gunshots detected in the area. They arrived to find an adult black male, in his mid-twenties, laying in the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries.
Detectives immediately began speaking with witnesses and gathering evidence in the case. Using eyewitness statements, vehicle GPS data, cellular location data, and video surveillance, detectives were able to clearly establish the roles of each subject in this homicide and make the following arrests:
- Cornelious Mack, Jr, (12/26/1994) was charged with First Degree Murder.
- Waltonio S. McFadden (9/19/2000) was charged with Principal in First Degree Murder.
- Santonio M Simmons (4/17/1976) was charged with Tampering with Physical Evidence Related to a Felony.
All three were booked at Orient Road Jail.
