One of the victims in the shooting near the 5700 block of Steven Ct. has been identified as Caleb Jefferson. TPD protects the identities of all victims, but Jefferson's family gave permission to release his name.
There are currently no additional developments in this case.

TAMPA POLICE INVESTIGATE HOMICIDE

Incident Location: 5700 block of Steven Ct.
Details: On January 16, at approximately 12:32 PM, officers were dispatched to the 6700 block of Elm Ct. in reference to a report of someone being shot. When officers arrived, they located a 26-year-old man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The man was transported to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. As officers were responding to Elm Ct., dispatch received a separate call from the 5700 block of Steven Ct. at 12:34 PM in reference to someone being shot. When officers arrived, they located a 27-year-old man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The man was transported to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The two calls appear to be related. Although early in the investigation, this does not appear to be a random act.
