TAMPA, FL. (August 17, 2025) - - Tampa Police are on the scene of an active situation involving an armed adult man who has made suicidal statements and is currently alone in a vehicle in the 4700 block of W. Estrella St.
Tampa Police Officers, all trained in crisis de-escalation, are currently focused on achieving a safe and peaceful resolution. Tampa Police Negotiators are in direct contact with the man and are working to ensure he receives the care he needs.
As a safety precaution, residents of the home where the vehicle is parked have been safely escorted from the area. No other residents or members of the public are believed to be at risk.
To allow for a secure and distraction-free area for negotiators, traffic is currently closed along S. Westshore Blvd between W. Neptune St and W. Melrose Ave. The public is asked to avoid the area and use alternative routes until further notice.
