TAMPA, FL. (FEBRUARY 12, 2026) - -Tampa Police have charged 19-year-old Jamarian Bradfield (black male, 11/16/2005) in the fatal shooting of a black female in her mid-30s.
Tampa Police responded to the report of a shooting in the 10900 block of Brittany Ln at 12:36 pm on Thursday, February 12, 2026. Officers arrived to find the victim with a gunshot to the upper body. Although lifesaving measures were provided, she regrettably succumbed to her injuries.
Investigators immediately began gathering evidence and witness statements, quickly identifying Bradfield as the suspect in this isolated incident. Preliminary information suggested that Bradfield and the woman, who were acquainted with each other, were engaged in a verbal argument immediately prior to the shooting. Bradfield, who was driving a 2015 Mercedes sedan, reportedly pointed a gun at the woman threatening to shoot her before the actual shooting occurred.
Tampa Police Officers scouring the area located Bradfield at a nearby apartment complex in the 10400 block of N 22nd St, where he was found to be armed and was quickly detained without incident. The Mercedes was impounded and the gun seized as evidence.
"The swift apprehension of this armed individual is a direct result of the relentless work of our officers and investigators," said Chief Lee Bercaw. "We hope this quick arrest brings a sense of justice to the victim’s family as they navigate this senseless tragedy."
Bradfield was arrested and charged with Murder. He was transported to Orient Road Jail.
