TAMPA, FL. (July 24, 2026) - - Tampa Police is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred overnight at Emperor’s Gentleman’s Club located at 5718 E Adamo Dr.
Just before 12:15 a.m., officers responded to the club in response to shots fired. Upon their arrival, they located an adult male in his early 20's with upper body trauma. He was pronounced deceased on the scene.
Based on the preliminary investigation, the subject was ejected from one portion of the club. Moments later, he pushed past venue employees and entered a separate portion of the club that was closed to the public. When the security guard, an adult male in his early 60's, made contact with the subject, they engaged in a physical altercation. The subject repeatedly struck the security guard before the guard fatally shot him.
The security guard remained on scene.
Detectives are continuing to process evidence, review surveillance video, and interview witnesses.
