TAMPA, FL. (SEPTEMBER 4, 2026) - - The Tampa Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a local Family Dollar and is asking our community to take a good look at this video.
On August 31, 2026, officers responded to the Family Dollar located at 4900 N. 40th St. following an armed robbery. Video recorded the armed suspect entering the business and demanding money from the employee, before fleeing the store on foot heading northbound.
Thankfully, no one was injured.
The suspect appears to be a tall black male, approximately 250 pounds, with his face partially covered. At the time of the robbery, he can be seen wearing a black hoodie, long blue pants, and black slides.
As detectives continue to gather evidence and develop leads in this case, they are sharing this video of the suspect in the hope that someone in our community may recognize his build, clothing, or mannerisms.
