City of Tampa Distributes 295,248 Water Bottles to Local Businesses and Organizations

The City plans to close its “business only” distribution site on December 10.

The City of Tampa Parks and Recreation Department distributed (295,248 bottles of water and 498,479 face coverings) to businesses and non-profit organizations who took advantage of the City’s “business only” site on December 9. The City opened the additional site to accommodate companies and organizations in need of bulk quantities.

 

The “business only” site, located at Al Lopez Park, will reopen for one additional day on December 10 at 8 a.m. Distribution will end at 7 p.m., or until supplies run out.

Business owners may request up to five cases of bottled water per location through the City’s online request form at: www.tampa.gov/form/business-water-request The form must be completed prior to arriving at the distribution site. A City of Tampa-issued business license is required at pick up.

Businesses in need of a bulk quantity of face coverings for staff and customers must complete a separate online request form at: tampagov.net/Masks.

Individual residents may visit one of the four distribution sites listed below to pick up free bottled water and face coverings. The sites will remain open (December 10 until 7 pm), or while supplies last.

  • Himes Avenue Sports Complex - 4501 South Himes Avenue
  • MacFarlane Park - 1700 North MacDill Avenue (near the basketball courts – turn onto Main Street from MacDill Ave)
  • Al Barnes Park - 2902 North 32nd Street
  • New Tampa Community Center - 17302 Commerce Park Boulevard

Residents are limited to two face coverings per person and one case of bottled water per household. Households with more than four members may receive one additional case. No ID is required. 

The City is asking for everyone who is visiting a distribution site to please remain patient while staff responds to the high demand for bottled water and face coverings.
