This week, the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses is hosting their annual convention at the Tampa Convention Center. This event brings together nurses from across the country to share their passion for women’s health and neonatal care, with highly acclaimed guest speakers and presenters.

Thousands gathered outside the Tampa Convention Center’s exhibit hall over the weekend, awaiting the grand opening of the 2018 AWHONN exhibits. The exhibit hall included hundreds of displays related to obstetric health and showcased state of the art medical technology. Here, nurses were able to explore useful tools, learn new methods, and interact with colleagues and peers.

In addition to the exhibit hall, AWHONN organized several keynote speakers who gave seminars throughout the week on various topics related to women’s health and neonatal care. Speakers included Professor Paula Kagan, Susan Gullo, RN, BSN, and Amanda Hill, CNM, amongst others.

Lastly, a major component of AWHONN is charity. During the conference, a total of 20,350 diapers were donated to the National Diaper Bank, including 4,954 to a local diaper bank here in Tampa.

With over 5,000 attendees, the Tampa Convention Center was proud to welcome so many nurses and medical practitioners to our facility!
