A purr-fect event took place over the weekend, complete with adorable adoptables, outstanding performances, and even snow on the Riverwalk.

Tuxes and Tails is the Humane Society of Tampa Bay’s annual black tie gala. The event attracts animal-lovers throughout Tampa Bay for an evening of charity and fun.

This year’s theme, Nordic Nights, transformed the Tampa Convention Center’s ballroom into a winter wonderland with an impressive lights display, beautiful centerpieces, snowflake décor, and Nordic performances.

Guests had a chance to mingle with adoptable cats and dogs, while supporting the Humane Society’s mission to end animal homelessness. Amongst the adoptables were cats and dogs of all sizes and ages, including Zeus the “singing dog” who helped deliver the first performance of the evening. As the night continued, notable guests walked the runway alongside furry pals to ensure all animals found their forever homes.

Between the silent auction and guest donations, hundreds of thousands of dollars were raised at the event. Most of the proceeds will go directly to helping animals in need, while some will also help the Humane Society of Tampa Bay build their new DeBartolo Family Animal Shelter. One anonymous donor even made a donation of $100,000.

After dinner, the gala continued with a smaller reception outdoors along the Tampa Riverwalk, where a flurry of artificial snow served as the grand finale to another successful Tuxes and Tails event.

The Tampa Convention Center was honored to welcome back Tuxes and Tails for another year and support its heartwarming cause.
