Private Hauler - Franchise and Permit Requirements

The City of Tampa differentiates payment requirements for commercial solid waste haulers and self-hauling businesses that conduct solid waste collection and/or disposal services within the City of Tampa service area.

Commercial Solid Waste Haulers

Solid Waste haulers providing commercial solid waste collection and/or disposal services within the service area* are required to obtain a "Franchise Agreement." Permitted Franchisees are required to complete a Franchise Agreement and Application prior to each fiscal year. Each Franchisee will remit to the City 15% of the gross revenues generated from hauling commercial solid waste.

* The service area in this resolution refers to the City's 1983 jurisdictional boundary, which is the current city limits excluding the New Tampa area.
