The City of Tampa Department of Solid Waste & Environmental Program Management’s S.W.E.E.P. services team collects approximately 2,893 tons of miscellaneous debris annually. This program is reserved for residential customers with active solid waste accounts who reside in single-family homes and multi-unit properties (four units or less). If your S.W.E.E.P. date has passed or you need items picked up sooner, you can call our customer service team or visit Tampa Connect to schedule a special-pick up for $17.26 per cubic yard, a cubic yard is about the size of an oven. Residents with a current garbage charge on their utility bill can also use the McKay Bay Transfer Station at 112 S. 34th St. to dispose of large items like yard waste, furniture, mattresses, and appliances for free.
* S.W.E.E.P. collections are not provided in New Tampa as New Tampa residents are serviced by Hillsborough County Waste Management. New Tampa residents are encouraged to contact Hillsborough County Waste Management at (813)-272-5680 or visit www.HCFLGOV.net/Trash for more information about their solid waste services and how to properly dispose of bulky waste.
Please place all debris curbside no later than 8:00 p.m. on the Sunday of your S.W.E.E.P. clean-up date.
Please note: The City reserves the right to refuse items as necessary. Debris piles deemed to be excessively large may incur additional disposal costs.
