Staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week by highly trained fire and medical dispatchers, the division manages a wide range of calls for service, from life-threatening medical emergencies and structure fires to hazardous materials incidents and other urgent situations.

Every call is carefully assessed to ensure the appropriate resources are dispatched quickly and efficiently. Communications personnel provide responding crews with real-time information and updates, helping firefighters and paramedics make informed decisions before they even arrive on scene.

Through constant coordination, vigilance, and professionalism, the Communications Division plays a vital role in ensuring Tampa Fire Rescue delivers timely, effective emergency response to residents and visitors across the city.
