The City of Tampa has determined that reasonable control of single-use plastics in response to the growing issue of such items harming waterways, the bays and ocean, endangering animals living and using such waterways, bay and ocean is beneficial to the environment as well as public health. We are promoting a culture of waste reduction in order to reduce pollution and encouraging sustainable consumer practices.
This Executive Order is to establish the City's program to reduce the use of single use plastics within the City through the establishment of a public outreach and education program and also to identify the requirements to be included in City contracts and permits to use City property
