The Tampa Water Department and Hillsborough County Public Utilities invites all K-12 students in the Hillsborough County School District to participate in our Drop Savers Water Conservation Poster Contest. In this contest, students must create a poster that portrays a water conservation idea in a slogan and/or drawing form.

Posters are assigned under one of the following judging categories:

  • Division 1: K - Grade 1
  • Division 2: Grades 2 - 3
  • Division 3: Grades 4 - 5
  • Division 4: Grades 6 - 8
  • Division 5: Grades 9 - 12

Congratulations to Our 2022 Drop Savers Poster Contest Winners!

*Another congratulations to Ayaan Sangomola who received 1st place and Miki Lin who received 3rd place in their divisions in the statewide competition sponsored by the Florida Section of the American Water Works Association (AWWA)!

Thank you to all who participated in this year's Drop Savers Poster Contest. We are currently not accepting poster submissions. Please check back again for more information on next year's Drop Savers Poster Contest.

Student Guidelines

  • Students must work individually
  • Poster must be drawn on 8.5" x 11" white paper and may be drawn vertically or horizontally
  • Students may use crayons, paint, color pencils, or markers (no highlighters, photos, or computer graphics are permitted)
  • Only original artwork will be accepted (no trademarked or copyrighted materials)

Prizes

First place winners from each division will advance to the state-level competition sponsored by the Florida Section of the American Water Works Association (AWWA) and will also receive:

  • A bottle-filling station installation at their school which will save money because students don’t need to buy single-use bottles of water, and they help the environment by eliminating plastic bottles from the waste stream
  • Reusable water bottles imprinted with their artwork for the students in their art class
  • A poster of their artwork for display in their art class
  • A water conservation retrofit kit (low-flow aerators and showerhead, toilet leak detection dye tablets, hose nozzle, and more)
  • Display of their artwork on both the City of Tampa and Hillsborough County Drop Savers web pages
  • And more!
