SPIRIT (Special Populations and Inclusive Recreation In Tampa)

We offer activities and leisure services designed for persons with disability or special needs. Our goal is to assist people in developing and using their leisure time in ways that enhance their health, well-being, and independence.

Adaptive and Inclusive Staff

Our staff has a wide variety of experience working with people who have special needs. Direct service staff have experience in community recreation, education, and clinical settings.

Inclusive Services

If you are in need of our inclusive services, please first register for your desired class, then contact the Therapeutic Recreation Coordinator for an accommodation request. Accommodation requests should be completed at least 10 days before the start of the class or activity. All swim-inclusion requests will be handled at the pool.

Growing Our Program

Our vision is a city that welcomes people of all abilities, with continued support and participation. We offer fun adaptive and inclusive recreation opportunities in our community. Please feel free to contact us with any suggestions.

Park Experience Stories

In an effort to offer accessibility to all residents of Tampa, C.A.R.D. produced Autism Friendly Experience Stories to help parents, teachers and other caregivers prepare guests with autism for their visit to our park or facility. It is suggested that you review the site's Experience Story prior to your visit.
