Be Tampa Ready for Hurricane Season
Did you know that you can pre-register to get sandbags in the event of a storm? To better facilitate the distribution of sandbags, we have a registration form that you can fill out now. You do not have to wait for a storm to be on the way. It takes less than five minutes. If the City activates sandbag operations, you will get an email and/or text with your QR code and information on when and where to pick up your pre-registered sandbags. It's that simple.
Sandbag Pickup Locations* will be:
- Al Barnes Park, 2902 N 32nd St, 33605
- Al Lopez Park, 4810 N Himes Ave, 33614
- Himes Ave Sports Complex, 4501 S Himes Ave, 33611
You must still be a City of Tampa resident and must show a valid Driver's License or State Identification at sandbag pickup to verify residency. There is a limit of 10 bags per family while supplies last.
*You will only be able to pick up sandbags if there is a State of Emergency declared and sandbag operations are activated at the order of the Mayor.
